Modelling the flow is of crucial importance for assessing the extension of areas endangered by debris flow. Beside choosing the appropriate model, the key issue is defining the design critical initial parameters. Moreover, in order to be able to perform a robust risk analysis, the design event must be chosen for different probability of occurrence.
